Serenity did a dna test as research for a book she is writing.  Only to learn that she has two half sisters.  Now she is wondering what is the true story.  She was raised with twin sisters and a brother in a loving family.  She connects with her half sisters online.  After talking for a while they end up arranging to meet at Serenity's families cabin at Tahoe.  They are going to be there a week.  Serenity does not tell her family, though. 

Each girl brings in their own baggage.  Can they get along?  Can they figure out who their parents are and how they are related.

 A very fast read. A story set in a small Florida gulf town.  Jill, a kindergarten teacher in NY is off for the summer.   Her sister calls and asks if she would housesit for her friend.  It sounds ideal a summer on the beach, while she oversees a worker at the home.  Once she arrives she learns she is to cook and clean and do laundry, and the workers nephew and great niece will be there for a few weeks.   Great, another trap by her sister.

 Another fast and fun read by Debbie.  This is another Cedar Cove story.

As always, the story revolves around the folks that live in Cedar Cove.  Olivia, a local judge is diagnosed with cancer.  Her mom and stepdad are suppose to take a cruise over the Christmas holidays; but should they?

Is pastor Dave having an affair?  That is all his wife can figure with the clues she has found.

Tanni a high school student who lost her father a year ago, finally starts to reconnect.

 Another fast fun read by MKA.

Drue's mother has just passed away and she doesn't have a job, she was a waitress.  Out of the blue, after a 20 year absence; her father shows up at the funeral. he is remarried to Drue's ex friend from school. He offers her a job at his law firm and her grandparents house to live in.  As expected she and his wife do not get along and her job is the lowest of the low.  But, she settles in and things do get better.

BEACH HOUSE FOR RENT by Mary Alice Monroe

 Great story.  Cara owns her families beach house on Isle of Palms.  She is now married and not living there.  She rents it out to Heather who is pretty much a recluse and an artist that has been commissioned to create pictures for stamps for the USPS.  The beach house is perfect for her, she can draw and be left alone.  She thrives here.  She starts to make friends and even finds a boyfriend.  Then the unexpected happens, Cara's husband dies.  She cant bear to remain in their-his home and sells it and asks Heather to vacate early.  Heather declines but invites her to move in and share the home until her lease is up.

 Interesting story of Ford who lives on an island and study's birds, off of Blueberry Cove, Maine.   Delia runs the local diner, which she just found out her yearly lease has expired.  The town is not allowing her to reup her lease.  Ford ends up trying to help her figure out a solution.

JUST BREATHE by Susan Wiggs

 Awesome story by Susan.  Susan is married to a wealthy man and living in Chicago, she writes draws a comic strip.  Everything is great, He has survived cancer and they have started in vetro to start their family.  Until the fateful day that she catches him having an affair, at which point she goes home and packs up and heads to her childhood home a little town on the west coast.  She is completely lost even being back with her extended family.  She learns to open up and resume friendships and then finds out she is finally pregnant.  Can she do this?

 Taffeta is married to a wealthy man and has a daughter Sarah.  He accused her of child abuse-she did not do it, but because of his family it was prosecuted and she lost and lost custody of Sarah.  She leaves and makes a new life for herself, while having a pi watch for her daughter.  One day she found out her ex was leaving Sarah with druggies and strippers. She devices a plan to get her back, by getting the local cop to marry her.  Can she pull it off, will he help her?

VIRGIN RIVER by Robyn Carr

 This is the story that the tv series Virgin River is based off of.  I enjoy the series but the book is better.

Melinda is recently widowed and works in a volume hospital, in LA

She accepts a job in Virgin River a very small town in the mountains.  Definitely  not what she expected.

The contract is for a year with housing included, only the housing is a run down cabin.  

And, the Dr.  has no idea about her being hired as someone else hired her to help him.  Needless to say it seems like a gigantic mistake.

 Awesome story by Mary.  All about a reporter in Atlanta that quits to take another job in DC only to find out to late that the company closes.  So, she goes back to her hometown in Florida, a small coastal town.  Her family has owned and operated the local newspaper for years.  She goes to her grandmothers who practically raised her as her mother was a no show for most of her life.  While there a prominent long term elected official dies in a car crash that she witnesses.  This sets off a chain of events and stories for her.

WHAT WE FIND by Robyn Carr

 Great read by Robyn.  Maggie is a busy neurosurgeon, after getting burned out and dealing with a possible lawsuit and her practice closing; she decided to head to the mountains of Colorado where her dad runs a campground.   She needs to recharge her batteries, if you will.   However, her dad suffers a heart attack shortly after her arrival. After arranging to have him taken to her hospital in Denver they are away for a while.  A couple that help at the campground and one of the campers take on the campground to keep it running.  It is a struggle with the recovery as her dad is not the most happy patient.   A one point a local boy falls of a cliff while on a search and rescue mission, she helps to save his life.  She also helps rescue a kidnapped girl. busy busy few months

It follows three young girls from before joining to afterward.  They all come from different backgrounds.  She tells their family stories and childhood, schooling etc.  She goes in depth on what they encounter while becoming nuns and what they go through when they leave the order.

 A book with two stories in one.

The first is A Little Bit Country, by Debbie Macomber.  Rorie lives in San Francisco and is seeing a guy, whom she borrows his car to drive to a conference.  Unfortunately she took the scenic route and has car trouble  She is rescued by a young guy on horseback who along with his brother help to get  her car towed to the local shop and provide a place to stay.  Sparks begin to fly, however the brother is engaged.

The second is Blackberry Summer by Raeanne Thayne.  Claire lives in a small town in the Colorado mountains and is a single mom.  Her ex husband is a local Dr.  One night after the kids school performance she and the kids and their friend are in a terrible car accident.  Her mom and friends rally around to keep her business open and help those involved.

This is two stories in one book.

The first is Cordina's Crown Jewel, a story of  her royal highness who just wants to be a normal person. even just for a while.  She makes her get away after a party and ends up in rural Vermont, at the home of Delaney.  They met after she crashed her car and he was the one that passed by and offered to help.  She ends up staying a bit with him and of course falling in love.

The second is Unfinished Business, about a renowned concert pianist that comes home to her hometown.  She had been performing and traveling all over the world accompanied by her dad.  Her parents were divorced and this is an awkward reunion with her mom.  She needs a break after her father has passed away.

the second is about James Wilkens who meets a distraught girl in Las Vegas on New Years Eve.  James was once engaged to Jason Manning's sister.  After talking and spending some time together they agree to meet the next New Years Eve back in Las Vegas.

 Delaney was once in a high power job.  She ended up leaving and going back to school and working at a coffee shop in an office building.  She befriends a young girl, that seems lonely.  Little did she know this girl is the sister of the guy that runs a major company in the building.  As she learns more she learns another sister has joined them, living with her and her brother and their grandfather in a mansion.  Delaney and Malcolm become close.
