This story follows Daisy and her son and her long time friend Julian.  Daisy did not marry her sons father after she got pregnant as a teenager.  Even though he helps out and even moved to be near them, they didn't marry.  Julian is the brother of a Bellamy cousins husband and they have known each other for a long time.  Each liking the other but nothing coming of it. Julian follows Daisy's advise and gets into the ROTC and that leads him to the Air Force.  He invites Daisy to his graduation and has plans to ask her to marry him.  He ends up on a special mission and captured before they marry.  All kinds to things happen then.

ISLE OF PALMS-A lowcountry Tale by Dorothea Benton Frank

As always Dorothea's books are fun to read.  Anna is divorced and has a college age daughter.  Anna is a hairdresser and lives with her father.  Her marriage to her best friend who happens to be gay, came about in part to Anna being raped and becoming pregnant.  Anna finally saves enough to buy her own place back on the island of her childhood.  She moves in just before her daughter comes home from college, a totally different girl,  Her  next down neighbors happen to have been neighbors from her childhood.  However her  other neighbor, well lets say she has a heart of gold but takes some getting used to.  Throw in Anna buying her own salon and you get all kinds of things happening.

THE BACKUP PLAN-The Charleston Trilogy by Sherryl Woods

Aww, another wonderful story that takes you inside what it is like to be Southern and living in Charleston.  Dinah is from a well to do family, private school and debutante balls and all.  Cordell is a man she has known most of her life, even though he was not from a well to do family and attended the private school due to the generosity of a benefactor.  Dinah and once dated Cordell's brother, and the made a backup plan that if either was ready to settle down and the other was free they would marry.  Dinah having been a war correspondent and been a little to close to the action, is forced to take a leave.  To which she quits and heads home.  All kind of surprises are in store as she trys to get herself back together after the accident.

A fun and fast read.

THE SUMMER GARDEN-a Chesapeake Shores Novel by Sherryl Woods

This story follows Luke O'Brien and his large extended family.  After a Christmas vacation to Ireland with the whole family, Luke stays on.  With the help of Moira, the granddaughter of his grandmothers old flame; they set out and explore pubs.  Luke has finally decided he wants to open a pub back in Chesapeake Shores.  He is hard at work trying to get the pub ready and opened and has little time to communicate with Moira.  So, when her grandfather suggests she come along to the states when he visits Luke's grandmother; she goes.
Will Luke be happy to see her?

As always Sherryl's books are entertaining and fast reads.
