It's about Nicks brother who was killed in action. Bri has depended on herself so long, she is hard pressed to handle help from a stranger. Christmas is just around the corner. A quick read.

A quick but predictable read.
Christine works at her fathers investment firm, wears the right clothes, dates the expected man. Her life is good. Then tragedy strikes when her father dies in an automobile accident. He was at his cabin in New York and was headed home to Chicago. At the reading of the will she gets a surprise. She and her mother inherit 1/3 each with the final 1/3 going to someone she has never heard of. Thus begins her quest to answer her questions. Throw in a controlling mother and there you have it.

Claire is a nurse and married, it is 1945. After the war she and her husband get away for a short vacation of sorts. While there she stumbled upon an entryway to the past.
She arrives at the same place but 200 years prior. Back in the days of Scottish clansman and the army that is cruel. Follow along with her as she attemps to make sense of what has happened and to stay alive. She will meet and fall in love, have to learn to defend herself and others.
